The Seminar took place on 13 January, 2012 at the HKUSPACE Learning Centre, Admiralty, Hong Kong, from 14:00 to 17:00 hrs. The presentations were delivered by veteran experts of four members companies. They were, in order of presentation, Securex Solution Ltd., Shun Hing Technology Co. Ltd., Powerful Industrial Ltd. and TeleEye Holdings Ltd. The theme of these 4 presentations focused on the latest technology and equipment that solve and overcome video surveillance problems and handicaps. Registration to the Seminar were overwhelming, and the audience were thoroughly absorbed in the material presented and the demonstrations. The next seminar will be announced in due time. HKSA Christmas Lunch This annual event for all our members was held on 16 December, 2011 at the Grand Ballroom of Royal Plaza Hotel, Kowloon. Over 210 members and their staff and guests attended. The lunch started at around 13:00 hrs. Table prizes and lucky draw prizes donated by members were drawn to add to the fun of the event. The prize donations came from Delight Technology Co. Ltd., Powerful Industrial Ltd, Securex Solution Ltd and Sony Corporation of Hong Kong Ltd. Also during lunch, souvenirs were presented by the Chairman, Mr. Douglas Renwick to members of 20 and 25 years of membership. Guardway Alarms Co. Ltd, Professional Security Services Ltd and Rondish Co. Ltd received the beautiful and memorable 20-year crystal plague, and CNT Security Co. Ltd was the only one member this year to receive the 25-year very honoured wooden plague. The lunch was thoroughly enjoyed by all and ended at 14:15 hrs. Diploma Course for Professional Security Manager The first Diploma Course for Professional Security Manager was launched in 2011. It ran from end of May to end of October, 2011. The classes were all conducted on either Saturdays or Sundays so as to keep the interruption to normal working duty to the minimum. The course consists of 10 modules, and passing 8 out of the 10 will be awarded a diploma. One certificate will be issued for each module passed. This Course recorded an enrolment of 19 students ( the maximum no. of student is limited to under 20 for each class so as to allow for vigorous interaction and communication ). All students were either senior supervisors or managers form both guarding and systems companies. The 19 students had attained passes in all the modules. A graduation Ceremony was held on 28 November, 2011 at the Police Offices’ Club, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Mr. Daniel Cham MH, JP, Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority and Mr. Stanley Wong, Acting Superintendent of Police of Crime Prevention Bureau were invited to present the Diplomas and Certificates The next Diploma course would probably be held at end of March or early April, 2012 For enquiry, please contact the Executive Director at tel: 2960 1142. or by e-mail to thehksa@netvigator.com.
