COURSES INFORMATIONTrain-the-Trainer Course
The association has been running this course for security personnel to attain the recognition of Security Trainer. The qualification is accepted by the Professional Education And Knowledge (PEAK) of the Vocational Training Council of Hong Kong and the Security Companies Inspection Unit (SCIU) of the Hong Kong Police Force, as a required proficiency to being approved as a security trainer. Diploma Course for Professional Security Managers
According to statistics released by the Security & Guarding Services Industry Authority, more than 280,000 security personnel permits (SPP) have been issued, a very significant percentage of which are working in the security and guarding sector. To meet the rapid growth of man-power demand, as well as the ever rising demand for professional leaders to meet industry challenges, the provision of courses for qualified supervisory and managerial level of people to lead this huge workforce for sustainable services quality are immediate.

This course aims to provide the essential knowledge and a comprehensive understanding of the career requirements. The graduates will be competent professional managers to meet all challenges of the industry.

The first Diploma Course for Professional Security Manager was launched in 2011. It ran from the end of May to the end of October, 2011. The classes were all conducted on either Saturdays or Sundays so as to keep the interruption of normal working duty to the minimum. The course consists of 10 modules, and passing 8 out of the 10 will be awarded a diploma. One certificate will be issued for each module passed. This Course recorded an enrolment of 19 students (the maximum number of students is limited to fewer than 20 for each class so as to allow for enthusiastic interaction and communication). All students were either senior supervisors or managers from both guarding and systems companies. The 19 students had attained passes in all the modules. A graduation ceremony was held on 28 November, 2011 at the Police Officers’ Club, Causeway Bay, Hong Kong. Mr. Daniel Cham MH, JP, Chairman of the Security and Guarding Services Industry Authority and Mr. Stanley Wong, Acting Superintendent of Police from the Crime Prevention Bureau were invited to present the Diplomas and Certificates. The next Diploma course would probably be held at end of March or early April, 2012
